Entrust introduces digital ID orchestration software for G2C interactions

Entrust has unveiled Citizen Identity Orchestration software, enabling governments to engage with citizens through verified digital identities. This product aims to enhance the efficiency and user-friendliness of public service delivery. According to Entrust, the software’s user-friendly design facilitates citizens’ interactions with digital public services and promotes increased civic engagement.

Secure access is imperative as governments plan digital transformation within their services, Entrust says. Governments frequently face challenges such as working with siloed departments, legacy data, minimal interdepartmental integration, and limited budgets.

“Once you establish the identity of an individual online and provide the right infrastructure to trust that identity, you can unlock unlimited possibilities to empower citizens and businesses by enhancing government services, making them more convenient, accessible, and secure,” says Tony Ball, president of Payments & Identity at Entrust.

This software uses a composable architecture to ease integration with existing government infrastructure through microservices and low-code or no-code orchestration tools. Furthermore, the government-to-citizen (G2C) software incorporates an AI-powered fraud detection mechanism for digital identity verification, a critical first step in granting citizens access to public services.

The Citizen Identity Orchestration utilizes robust authentication methods and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption to ensure the secure delivery of digital services and the protection of citizen data. To further secure access to government services, the solution incorporates multi-factor authentication.

Citizens can access government services through self-service digital channels available on both web and mobile platforms. Entrust emphasizes its end-to-end cybersecurity and privacy of citizen credentials with native cryptographic support, adhering to standards like NIST IALs 1, 2 and 3, GDPR, and eIDAS.

“Our solution is composable, allowing public institutions worldwide to implement successful digitalization programs that continuously evolve and scale,” Ball adds.

Entrust highlights a use case of this software in cross-border travel. The software can be used to establish biometric smart corridors that eliminate the need for expensive infrastructure such as e-gates and kiosks. Travelers can pre-enroll using a mobile-based system.
