Precise Biometrics and FPC fingerprint technology integrated into two new smartphones

Precise Biometrics and Fingerprint Cards (FPC) fingerprint technology has been integrated into the latest Lenovo VIBE K4 Note and Hisense A1 smartphones. The devices use Precise Biometrics’ product for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile and the FPC1025 touch fingerprint sensor.

In related news, yesterday at CES, Huawei introduced its Android tablet, MediaPad M2, featuring FPC’s touch fingerprint sensor FPC1155. Received and expected revenues in 2016 relating to sales of FPC1155 for this tablet model are included in FPC’s revenue guidance of 6,500-8,500 MSEK ($768 million-$1 billion) for 2016.

FPC CEO Jörgen Lantto, commented on the Huawei integration: “Huawei is a leading global OEM and we are proud that Huawei selected FPC1155 for MediaPad M2, its first tablet integrating a touch fingerprint sensor, following the successful launch of 10 smartphones with FPC touch fingerprint sensors. FPC1155 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality“.

Earlier this week Fingerprint Cards announced that, in cooperation with other industry leaders, it has developed solutions to enable the use of FPC’s touch fingerprint sensor technology for automotive applications.
