Xinguodu Technology acquires Miaxis Biometrics for US$40.64 million

 

Point-of-sale terminal and e-payment solutions provider Xinguodu Technology has signed an agreement to acquire biometric software developer Miaxis Biometrics for 252 million yuan (US$40.64 million), according to a report by Reuters.

Miaxis develops a range of fingerprint modules and fingerprint readers for time attendance, access control, door locks, car locks, and fingerprint POS, serving clients in the banking, security, and government and military sectors.

The company’s fingerprint algorithm is targeted for products including smartphones, tablets, PC’s, doors, time registration systems, payment terminals, flashdrives, Usb-tokens, and key fobs.

Previously reported in December, Miaxis Biometrics received an initial purchase order for 1.4 million fingerprint algorithm licenses for an embedded solution from an undisclosed European company within the fingerprint sensor market.

Prior to that, Miaxis Biometrics Co. released its latest SM-621N fingerprint module, which enables users to perform a range of functions including fingerprint image process, template extraction, template match, template search, and template store.
