New Vivo and ivvi smartphones feature FPC and Precise Biometrics fingerprint technology

Fingerprint Cards (FPC) and Precise Biometrics are providing the fingerprint technology for ivvi’s i3 and the new Vivo V3 and V3 Max smartphones.

Both devices use Fingerprint Cards’ touch fingerprint sensor FPC1035 and Precise Biometrics’ algorithm solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile. The fingerprint algorithm is based on Precise Biometrics’ standardized extractor and matcher technology, which is ISO 19794-2 compliant.

Chinese smartphone vendors are expected to ship 200 to 300 million fingerprint recognition enabled smartphones in 2016. The increasing adoption of fingerprint recognition functionality for mid-range and high-end mobile devices are driving the market, partly due to China-based mobile payment service providers getting ready to go head to head with Apple Pay.

FPC and Precise Biometrics are each holding Annual General Meetings next month. Precise Biometrics’ AGM will be held at 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday May 17, 2016 at Mobile Heights, Mobilvägen 10 in Lund, Sweden and Fingerprint Cards AGM will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Hotel Gothia Towers in Gothenburg, Sweden.

  1. Passwords & PINs are often forgotten, accounts lost in this process, and what’s worse, even stolen. We are all for replacing passwords with technology that uses biological characteristics for authentication.
