Sensory to demo in-app AI-powered banking teller at FinovateFall 2017

Sensory will be providing the first public demo of its in-app, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered virtual banking teller at FinovateFall 2017 next week in New York City.

The proof-of-concept demo and application for Sensory’s advanced embedded AI technologies provide bank and financial institution customers a virtual bank teller experience directly on their smartphones and tablets, without the need and risk of sending valuable information to the cloud.

The demo application will be available for banks to test and integrate into their apps in Q4 2017.

The company’s turnkey solution includes application source code for bank customization and technology modules for Sensory’s complete product line, including TrulySecure, TrulyNatural and TrulyHandsfree.

“Sensory’s virtual bank teller demo is a great example of why interest in Finovate continues to grow year-over-year,” said Greg Palmer, VP of Finovate. “Our goal is to help our audience of key decision makers from banks and financial institutions learn about new technologies that are empowering the future of banking. With the growing interest in AI, chatbots and biometric authentication in the banking industry, Sensory’s virtual bank teller offers much appeal to progressive banks looking for new and innovative ways to improve the safety and customer experience of mobile banking.”

Sensory’s speech-based natural language user interface is powered by TrulyNatural, the company’s embedded large vocabulary speech recognizer with hands-free wakeup.

The feature allows users to interact with the app by voice command via a talking avatar with accurate lip synchronization and high-quality text-to-speech synthesis, which vocalizes its responses back to the user in a natural sounding and looking manner.

The virtual teller experience is secured by integrating TrulySecure, a FIDO-certified combination of face and voice biometric authentication technologies.

With no additional hardware or specialized biometric scanners needed, TrulySecure provides the use of face and voice biometrics for seamless, fast and secure user authentication. The virtual bank teller looks at the user and hears their voice to confirm identity.

As with all Sensory technologies, the in-app virtual teller operates completely on device, making it fast, reliable and more secure because it does not require private data to be sent to the cloud.

The integration of the technologies from a single source ensures that banks will not need to outsource various components from technology developers, which helps lower the risk and cost in deployments.

“Not all banking apps are simple to navigate. Sometimes adding security detracts from the user experience,” said Todd Mozer, CEO of Sensory. “Taking what we’ve learned from more than two decades of revolutionizing how people interact with technology, we’ve created a smart, convenient and very secure user interface for mobile banking apps that emulates the experience of interacting with a human bank teller. Now, with a virtual teller on any mobile phone, users can check their balance, wire money, apply for a loan and more by simply speaking to the virtual teller in their banking app.”

Sensory will be presenting its in-app virtual teller demo at FinovateFall 2017, held at the New York Hilton Midtown, on September 11-14.
