CardLogix introduces app for biometric smartcards and NFC-enabled mobile devices

CardLogix has introduced a mobile identity software solution, FastCheck, for contactless smartcards and NFC-enabled Android and Windows devices. The multi-use, customizable software is designed for in-the-field identity and healthcare applications.

FastCheck provides ID card validation, identity verification, user enrollment, and display of cardholder information from security chips, according to the announcement. It includes a user registration function for mobile collection of biometric and biographical data. Newly captured cardholder information can be written directly to the contactless smartcard chip, or transferred to its Troposphere cloud database and then imported with CardLogix’ smartcard issuance software solution, Card Encoding Engine.

In addition to ID card validation, FastCheck authenticates users through photo ID, signature, optional biometrics and passwords, and CardLogix plans to release technology for smartcards with embedded fingerprint sensors soon. FastCheck can also read chips containing user information embedded in other form factors, such as wearables, the company says.

FastCheck is part of the idblox identity ecosystem of interoperable hardware, software, and standardized data dictionaries.

A free baseline version of FastCheck is available to Android devices through Google Play, and users can request complimentary FastCheck Demo Cards from CardLogix to illustrate its read/write features.
