Iris ID picks up SIA award for its portable biometric enrollment and identification solution

 

Iris ID announced that its iCAM M300, a handheld, Android-based multimode platform for portable biometric enrollment and identification, won the Security Industry Association’s New Products Showcase award for best mobile app.

According to the announcement, the iCAM M300 is designed for field use in access control, national ID programs, law enforcement, border control and time and attendance applications. The unit has embedded cameras for simultaneous capture of iris and facial modes. An optional snap-on module provides for FBI-compliant 500DPI, single fingerprint collection. Also included are magstripe and contactless card support, as well as an MRZ reader to verify ePassports. Communications protocols include NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE and more.

“With the its fast and accurate biometric enrollment and identification, including smart card and ePassport support, the M300 is a tremendous portable addition to the Iris ID line of identity authentication solutions,” said Mohammed Murad, VP global sales and business development at Iris ID. “We’re honored the iCAM M300 was recognized by the panel of judges in the New Product Showcase.”

Showcase winners were announced earlier this month at ISC West.
