Intelity deploys Acuant technology to streamline hotel guest check-in

Acuant this week announced its partnership with Intelity, an integrated mobile and in-room technology provider for the hospitality industry, to offer secure identity verification via the Intelity platform.

Originally integrated with the KEYPR legacy platform, the Acuant partnership extends to the Intelity platform, due to the recent merger between KEYPR and Intelity. Intelity hotel partners can now offer guests a remote identity check as part of the existing mobile check-in process to streamline the guest experience.

Acuant’s AssureID provides instant ID authentication and verification through the Intelity mobile guest apps, as well as the mobile SDK. Guests can submit their ID for verification during remote check-in. Upon confirming their identity, guests can activate their digital key and upgrade rooms, simplifying the check-in process for front desk staff and improving seamless guest-to-room flow.

“Friction at the front desk and check-in delays remain an ongoing pain point for guests and hotel operators alike,” said Intelity CEO Robert Stevenson. “With our extensive suite of mobile capabilities and Acuant’s ID verification platform, we are one step closer to a fully tracked, optimized and automated check-in process.”

Research by Oracle has shown that biometrics will play a key role in the hospitality industry. Last fall the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) announced a series of pilots under the its Seamless Traveler Journey initiative in which all airline security, airport, and border processes, as well as car rental access and hotel check-in will be performed with the same biometric information allowing travel and tourism sector representatives to jointly test interconnect technologies in an effort to improve traveler experiences.
