HID Global rolls out new fingerprint reader for biometric access control
HID Global has launched its new iCLASS SE RB25F fingerprint reader that merges credential excellence with HID’s globally-patented multispectral imaging technology. According to the announcement, the high-performance biometric reader with liveness detection performs secure fingerprint matching in less than a second.
HID’s multispectral imaging technology illuminates the skin at different depths to collect information from inside the finger to augment available surface data so that all types of fingerprints can be read quickly in challenging environmental conditions.
The reader also includes built-in optical tamper protection, and it supports the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP), as well as HID’s Seos technology for multi-layered authentication between the reader and credentials.
HID Biometric Manager is the on-premise software tool used to configure and manage one or many iCLASS SE RB25F readers including enrolling users’ fingerprints, assigning access rights and conducting other functions. It can also be used to log all door events where the readers have been installed and to upgrade readers in the field remotely over a TCP/IP connection.
The iCLASS SE RB25F is certified in several major geographies worldwide, available with multiple interface options and can be used with all popular industry-standard high frequency credential technologies.
Earlier this month the company launched HID Authentication Service to simplify leveraging biometrics and other factors for user onboarding and to provide frictionless authentication for identity and access management customers struggling with regulations across a number of industries.
