Precise Biometrics CEO credits Asia strategy for new customer win

 

A fingerprint sensor supplier from Asia has signed a licensing agreement to include Precise Biometrics‘ fingerprint software, Precise BioMatch Mobile, in its under-display sensor solutions for mobile devices.

According to the announcement the agreement will generate royalty revenue based on actual sales of fingerprint sensors which includes the biometric software however the royalty revenue is volume dependent and cannot be forecasted. The agreement also includes a fee for support and maintenance and the right to integrate and use Precise BioMatch Mobile beginning the second half of 2019.

“We are pleased to announce this collaboration as it further strengthens our position as a leading technology provider of fingerprint software,” says Precise Biometrics CEO Stefan K. Persson. “This also confirms that our new strategy, to offer customer service, support and product development in Asia in order to strengthen our presence in local key markets, has borne fruit.”

Precise announced it would be opening an office in Shanghai last November as part of the company reorganization plan which it completed last month.
