Onfido Partner Program launches to bring biometric identity verification services to new markets

Onfido has launched an international partner program to bring its biometric identity verification service to new markets and foster new use cases for it, according to a company announcement.

Under the program, Onfido will provide AI-powered ID verification services in the product portfolios of ForgeRock, Idemia, iovation, and other leading cybersecurity and identity and access management (IAM) firms. Onfido’s technology has also been added to Visa’s marketplace.

Partner Program participants receive tools, technical guidance, and support for integrating Onfido’s identity verification service into existing tool kits for fraud prevention, UX and compliance, to enable enterprises to offer more comprehensive digital identity management, KYC/AML, or fraud solutions, the company says.

“Empowering the channel is an important strategic move that will enable us to accelerate our expansion into the USA, South-East Asia and Europe while exploring new product innovation in areas such as account takeover and authentication,” says Onfido Director of Alliances and Partnerships Ed Ackerman. “With some of the biggest enterprise names already signed up to our program, we’re now selecting additional applications from companies to join and share in exciting new revenue-generating opportunities.”

Onfido has created its partner program with four channels for technology and commercial resellers, system integrators, and referrers. Partners can offer Onfido services directly to their customers by embedding them in their own cloud or SaaS offering, or by co-selling a combined solution stack. Onfido will also run joint marketing programs to provide commercial incentives and increase customer acquisition.

“Regardless of industry, our customers recognize that the start of a secure and optimized customer journey begins with a strong validated identity,” states Ben Goodman, senior vice president, global business and corporate development at ForgeRock. “Onfido’s speed of innovation and excellent track record in offering enterprises a robust identity verification and proofing solution made them a natural partner for us. We’re excited to be working together.”

Other companies joining the Onfido Partner Program at launch include Checkr, Agora Innovation, AllClearID, AmiqusID, Appway, Castlight Financial, Evernym, E-First Consulting, FiveDegrees, InvestGlass, Mambu, PassFort, Qwil Messenger, Sepa-Cyber, Shieldpay, Signicat, Thesaur.io, Thirdfort, ThoughtMachine, TribePad and TXpay.

An Onfido research project on identifying and mitigating bias in machine learning models was revealed this week to be among 10 projects chosen for participation in the UK Information Commissioner’s Office’s regulatory sandbox.
