Digital transformation company Atos has entered into negotiations to acquire digital identity management provider IDnomic to enable the creation of a major cybersecurity player in digital identity management and public key infrastructure (PKI) solutions.

The companies say IDnomics PKI technology expertise, digital trust solutions, and strategic SaaS offerings will complement Atos cybersecurity product portfolio, particularly the Horus line for IoT security, Trustcenter for security certificate issuing and management, the Evidian line of identity and access management (IAM) products and the Trustway data protection range. The Atos Group believes the combined offerings will enable it to reinforce a European cybersecurity leadership position by creating solutions to address current and future digital needs.

The exclusive negotiations with IDnomic shareholders, which include T.D.H. (Thierry Dassault Holding), Thales, Idemia, Banque des Territoires and Euro-Information, are expected to be completed in the second half of the year, and is subject to information and consultation from employee representation for both companies.

Atos attempted to acquire Gemalto in late 2017, and recently partnered with startup Global ID to offer its 3D finger vein biometrics.
