New Iris ID time and attendance device features dual biometric iris and face recognition

New Iris ID time and attendance device features dual biometric iris and face recognition

Iris ID launched IrisTime, a customizable biometric time and attendance platform, at the Human Resources Technology Conference & Expo this week in Las Vegas.

Suitable for organizations of all sizes, the open Android-based IrisTime platform accommodates hundreds of current time and attendance applications as well as new apps to be developed by solution providers and software developers. The device uses dual biometric iris and face recognition for authentication.

“IrisTime is designed as a time clock for the modern workforce,” says Mohammed Murad, Iris ID vice president global sales and business development. “We’re working with innovative application software vendors in the workforce management markets to revolutionize the time and attendance function with new apps providing affordable solutions for the basic or very specific requirements of virtually any organization.”

According to the announcement, the IrisTime device features fast auto focus to authenticate identities at distances of up to 24 inches. The authentication process takes one second to complete before resident Android-based applications can set employee schedules, process payroll and may display many other benefits such as disability and accrued vacation time.

Iris ID notes it currently provides iris-based authentication systems for global time and attendance solution suppliers including Paychex and SimplyWork.

IMARC Group recently forecast the global market for iris recognition to grow by 18 percent to 2024.
