Next Biometrics introduces new products for the access control market

Next Biometrics is launching two new products for the access control market. According to the company One Touch Access 110 and 115 have been specifically designed for integration into time and attendance terminals, access control readers, door locks and other devices for securing physical access as well as improving device-level security.

The Norwegian biometrics firm noted in its 2019 business update that it was looking to expand its reach and stake in the access control market.

The modules’ thin form factor allows for easy incorporation into a wide range of devices and applications. Seamless hardware integration is supported through a biometric subsystem comprised of hardware drivers, SDKs for a range of host platforms and a Next-certified partner algorithm.

Both products are based on Next Active Thermal patented technology. Next notes that the large active sensor area offers stable imaging, intuitive user operation and tolerance against dirt, grease and varying environmental conditions. One Touch Access 115 also takes enhanced operating and storage temperature requirements into consideration, making it suitable for outdoor use and distinctive climatic conditions.

“Launch of the new products is part of our dedicated strategy for the access control market and will further strengthen our position in this segment,” says Alain Faburel, Next Biometrics chief sales and marketing officer. “We anticipate receiving first volume orders for One Touch Access 110 and 115 from Q1-2020 onwards, following the customary design-in phase.”

Next Biometrics new CEO Peter Heuman took over from interim CEO Dan Cronin in September.
