Idex partners with Quest Payment Systems to expand use of biometric cards in Australasia

Idex Biometrics has partnered with Australian firm from Quest Payment Systems to introduce biometric smart cards to Australasia, the company announced.

Quest Payment Systems delivers payment technologies and smart cards for retail, consumer, and industrial applications. Under the partnership with Idex Biometrics, their solution will benefit from enhanced security and convenience thanks to the dual-interface biometric sensor. Shipments are planned for the second quarter of 2020.

“We are excited to be working with Idex Biometrics on the next generation of smart card technology,” said Jan Mason, CEO at Quest Payment Systems. “Our experience in payments and loyalty cards, coupled with Idex’s biometric capability, will deliver a vastly improved retail experience for our customers.”

Last month, the Norwegian biometrics software and fingerprint authentication company disclosed signing a three-year agreement with a leading provider of global financial news and IT services, which includes a multimillion-dollar commitment for Idex’s SmartFinger IDX 3200 dual-interface sensors, enhanced with advanced security features. This week, Idex announced a contract with Asian specialist inlay and biometric algorithm supplier DongWoon Anatech to provide the SmartFinger IDX 3200 dual-interface sensor for a line of biometric ID cards for access control. In Q3, Idex registered revenues of NOK 1.3 million (US$140,000).
