Trulioo showcases biometric age and identity check for gamers at ICE London and appoints COO

Trulioo is presenting its biometric GlobalGateway platform at international gaming market ICE London 2020 in February in London, a platform that helps international gaming companies check the age and identity of online players, the company announced.

According to Kim Hong, SVP of marketing at Trulioo, a high number of Europe-based gaming operators have shown interest in the company’s tool for electronic identity and business verification over the past year. Hong believes the GlobalGateway platform is an effective identity verification solution that will help establish their market presence and will bring safety and simplicity in the gaming industry’s compliance and fraud prevention processes.

“For all of the change and innovation that we have witnessed over recent years, this remains a sector that is built on trust and friendships between people. […] We offer an unmatched marketplace for identity data and services — wherever a player is from, we can verify and authenticate them online. That means improved player acquisition, fraud prevention and user experience all through one API and one contract,” she said.

GlobalGateway works with online players from over 100 countries and is in compliance with regulatory requirements such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC).

After securing more than $50 million in funding, Vancouver-based Trulioo appointed Zac Cohen as COO. Previously, Cohen was the company’s general manager for some four years. He will now take over senior leadership management, and will lead the global growth by getting more involved in policy, budget, and investor relations. The funding will be used to expand in new markets and grow its team from a current 130 employees to 200 in Vancouver, San Francisco, and Dublin.
