Biometrics companies BioRugged, StoneLock and Alcatraz appoint leaders to grow market share

BioRugged has a new CEO, with former GenKey Chief Operating Officer Arnd Langguth appointed to head the company’s efforts to increase its share of the global market for specialized, rugged biometric hardware.

Prior to his role with GenKey, Langguth was VP of Sales for EMEA and Asia Pacific at CrossMatch, which was acquired by HID Global in 2018.

“With his experience in biometric projects across the world, his strong technical background and his ability to bridge the gap between technology and real-world use, Arnd is the ideal person to drive BioRugged growth to the next level,” says BioRugged COO and Founder Hof Retief.

“The growth path of BioRugged is amazing,” says Langguth. “I am proud to become a member of such a dedicated and ambitious team. Through its partners, BioRugged became the leading manufacturer for the TelCo KYC market in Africa and gained significant market shares in Government projects.”

StoneLock has appointed Greg Harman as its new Regional Director of Sales to lead the company’s sale of biometric access control solutions in North America.

Harman brings in-depth knowledge of sales, cloud-based solutions, technology, and enterprise security to the company, and will provide strategic leadership to the company’s North American sales team to help continue its growth and expansion, according to the company announcement. His previous experience includes overseeing the launch of cloud-based access control solutions in North America which tripled their expected revenue. Harman has been part of revenues upwards of $100 million in different verticals, and has trained teams of sales reps in cloud-based alternatives to traditional commercial security products.

“Harman’s proprietary sales processes have garnered widespread attention and overwhelming success in the industry,” states StoneLock CEO and Co-founder Colleen Dunlap. “His breadth of understanding of enterprise security coupled with remarkably successful product launches surmounts our expectations for an ideal candidate. We are thrilled to have Harman lead us into the future of StoneLock and, ultimately, the future of faceless security.”

“I am extremely excited to join StoneLock at such an exciting time for the company, and the industry at large. The demand for contactless biometrics has exploded and we are in a key position to lead in this space as the technology gains mass adoption,” says Harman. “StoneLock’s people, technology, and vision attracted me to the organization and I am proud to be part of this amazing team.”

StoneLock announced the appointment of a new General Manager and teased a new product launch just last week.

Alcatraz has announced Sarah Lawler-Muzquiz is its new Director of Channel Sales, in which role she will build relationships with executives and drive sales, marketing, account management, and technical training in the engineering, construction, and integrator channels for end users of the company’s biometric access control products.

Lawler-Muzquiz previously served in various roles at Johnson Controls, including account executive for Building/Connected Technologies, strategic owner account manager, and sales engineer.

“What impresses me most about the Alcatraz Rock 3D facial authentication platform is that it creates harmony for our security systems. The Rock truly enables a frictionless environment – without having to upgrade video management, access control, cameras, or buy more software on top of everything, to push analytics and assume everything ‘will work just fine,’” comments Lawler-Muzquiz.

“In this time of COVID, how important is it to be able to offer businesses a touchless solution that not only improves security but reduces the spread of germs? Alcatraz is the seismic change the physical security industry needs to make our world a safer place. I could not be more excited to be on the Alcatraz team.”

“Although Sarah is new to the team, her passion for our products rivals that of anyone here. We are very excited to have her championing our flagship product the Alcatraz Rock to the extensive list of impressive connections she has made in security over the years,” says Alcatraz Chief Executive Officer and Founder Vince Gaydarzhiev. “Sarah has a great talent for identifying security needs and developing comprehensive solutions and we know her technical skill – coupled with her enthusiasm for helping businesses improve security – will be a great asset to our customers.”

Gaydarzhiev recently delivered a presentation as part of SIA’s AcceleRISE 2020 virtual conference.
