Biometric access control announcements from Iris ID, TBS, Speech Technology Center, EyeLock

Iris ID has partnered up to sell biometric home video security and IoT solutions to the global market under the Remo+ brand, expanding the reach of the company’s access control technology.

The partnership with Korea-based Olive and Dove Company allows Iris ID to introduce new products to complement its existing capabilities and expand its market reach, according to the announcement. The strategic collaboration allows Remo+ to reach extensive distribution networks for access control solutions to target opportunities for easy to use and contactless consumer security solutions.

“Our partnership with Remo+ is a first in the biometric and home security industry,” says Mohammed Murad, vice president, global sales and business development, Iris ID. “Iris ID and Olive and Dove joined forces to produce innovative solutions for the consumer market. With Iris ID’s extensive global distribution channel and state-of-the-art product portfolio, this partnership will create greater accessibility for these technologies around the world. The Remo+ product brand’s proven track record of designing and manufacturing home security cameras is a perfect complement to Iris ID leadership in the biometric security industry.”

Iris ID gets exclusive distribution rights for consumer security applications from Olive and Dove in North America and non-exclusive rights throughout the rest of the world. The company will continue supporting its existing distributors and resellers, while expanding its footprint in consumer security.

“We are very pleased to partner with Iris ID and combine forces in our industry,” comments Moon-Chul Lee, chief executive officer, Olive and Dove Company. “Success in the home security and other markets requires strong application software as well as a strong sales channel and service support resources, which Iris ID has globally. This agreement allows Remo+ to concentrate on expanding its growing market in the Americas and beyond. We look forward to improving customer support and services through Iris ID’s outstanding worldwide solutions provider network.”

Iris ID also recently launched its IrisTime open workforce management platform for businesses.

TBS forms integration partnership to provide access control to businesses

Touchless Biometric Systems has formed an integration partnership with Interflex Datansysteme GmbH to offer combined biometric access control solutions suitable for large and small deployments.

Interflex’s IF-6040 application is integrated with TBS hardware to provide biometric data capture for access rights, as well as management of TBS devices.

The solution provides secure access for high security areas like data centers, as well as time and attendance reporting, with fast and reliable operation, according to the company announcement. TBS devices feature biometric liveness detection, and can hold up to 20,000 biometric templates in identification mode, or 100,000 in verification mode. Users can enroll on the device, through a centralized process or a portable system.

The seamless integration between Interflex and TBS enables automated distribution of biometric data between devices, the companies say, and deletion likewise is distributed immediately to all devices on the network. The integration is flexible enough to support a mix of sensor technologies, and scalable enough to handle an unlimited number of devices in a single installation.

Speech Technology Center physical access control system deployed to university

A biometric facial recognition access control system from Speech Technology Center has been deployed to Krasnoyark’s School of Economics and Commerce building at the Siberian Federal University (SibFU).

The system is one of the first at Russian universities, according to the announcement, with face biometrics deployed to the building’s entrance to identify visitors as they pass through a turnstile with the Smart Tracker.FRS system.

Speech Technology Center CEO Dmitriy Dyrmovskiy says the company’s advanced algorithms, experience with large implementations and close integration with leading manufacturers has reduced processing times to milliseconds.

“This allows for convenient, fast and — crucially — contactless entry,” Dyrmovskiy says. “Speech Technology Center was the first in the world to implement a face recognition system in a sports stadium and it now operates in 14 sports facilities, over 20 transport facilities, and in five ‘Safe Cities.’ The deployment of our face recognition system as part of a campus project could be the starting point for more campus projects in the Siberian region and throughout Russia. These not only involve the already implemented use case, but also others that are especially relevant today, such as distance exams and remote presentations of qualifying papers. We are happy to be part of a process that’s so fundamental to the entire educational sector.”

EyeLock launches iris biometric logical access control

A new logical access control system using iris biometrics for connected workers has been released by  EyeLock, combining its myris iris authentication device and a software application the company says is easy to use for secure logins to computers, networks and apps.

The myris device is USB-connected and handheld, providing convenient, secure access control for remote or on-site workers. The software application was co-developed with Integral Biometrics, formerly known as Integral Technology Solutions, which brings experience with development and deployment of biometric authentication solutions for global businesses.

“The EyeLock ID logical access solution ensures greater data security for businesses and requires additional accountability by their employees when working from home,” states Jeff Carter, CEO of EyeLock. “With this easy-to-use and affordable identity management tool, EyeLock ID should go home with every corporate computer and be used on every office workstation.”

The EyeLock ID logical access control solution includes one myris scanner and a year-long software subscription, which provides support for Windows Active Directory, and application-specific automated access to popular corporate systems like SAP and Citrix.

“The Integral team is excited to partner with EyeLock to help businesses become more comfortable with remote and on-premise network access by their employees, and EyeLock ID is the best product on the market to achieve this objective,” says Integral Biometrics CEO Marc Diament. “With the current changes and challenges faced in a swiftly morphing workplace, every opportunity to achieve greater security while eliminating complexity is a welcome transformation that we are eager to help deliver.”
