Wearable authentication solutions firm Nymi has announced a new partnership with mobile and RFID manufacturer ELATEC to enable Nymi Workplace Wearables users to biometrically authenticate themselves into systems, devices, and machines using ELATEC readers.

The Nymi Band provides continuous authentication via a user’s fingerprint and heartbeat biometrics.

The new collaboration will now bring Nymi’s biometric authentication technologies to ELATEC’s extensive network of security solutions around the world.

“We’re delighted to be working with Nymi in providing a frictionless and hands-free authentication, authorization, and access control solution for our customers across numerous industries,” said ELATEC CEO Paul Massey. “Wearable technology enables a very positive user experience and exciting new applications for our reader solutions,” Massey added.

Moreover, the partnership will now enable Nymi to strengthen its efforts in the development of its presence in new markets.

“This partnership with ELATEC provides important market reach and compatibility for our Workplace Wearables,” said Andrew Foxcroft, Vice President of Nymi.

“The Nymi Band is being rapidly adopted in industries like pharma and medical device manufacturing with an emphasis on privacy, security, and a natural user experience,” Foxcroft explained. “ELATEC reader compatibility will facilitate penetration of these and other industries and global regions.”

Nymi has been expanding steadily in 2020, closing a number of partnerships aimed at improving the effectiveness of its biometric Band products.

In fact, over the last couple of months alone, the company partnered with HID Global to increase the security features of the Nymi band, and with Rockwell Automation’s ThinManager to bring the Band to industrial automation applications.

Nymi also recently added real-time location data to its biometric wearable thanks to a collaboration with Quuppa and is now offering the Nymi Band’s capabilities as part of Ping Identity’s PingZero suite.
