LexisNexis wins $218M in Login.gov identity proofing awards

LexisNexis Risk Solutions has secured the final pieces of Login.gov’s next-generation remote identity proofing program, winning awards for biometric verification, document authentication and identity resolution that together total approximately $218 million.

A release says that LexisNexis “now supports all three functional areas of Login.gov’s next-generation remote identity proofing initiative, helping strengthen secure and accessible access to government services for millions of Americans.”

The award will see LexisNexis Risk Solutions continue to provide document authentication, biometric verification, and identity resolution capabilities to support the Login.gov portal, which aims to provide a centralized digital hub for U.S. citizens to access government services.

Per the release, the award is split into three “functional areas.” The first and second are valued at a combined $55 million, supporting document authentication, validation, and biometric identity verification. The Functional Area 3 Identity Resolution award, valued at approximately $163 million, supports identity resolution, attribute validation, behavioral intelligence and fraud detection capabilities.

The awards aim to advance Login.gov’s goal to create “a modern identity proofing ecosystem spanning the full identity verification lifecycle, from document authentication and biometric verification to identity resolution, behavioral intelligence, and fraud detection.”

The latest awards follow last month’s $163 million Login.gov identity proofing contract awarded to Xcelerate Solutions and subcontractor Socure, underscoring the government’s broader effort to modernize remote identity verification across the platform.

Login.gov shifts to its next phase

The awards come as Login.gov enters its next phase, with GSA highlighting investments in fraud detection, continuous monitoring, lower costs for agencies and improved user experience.

The GSA says recent developments have built on the portal’s foundational, privacy-first architecture and governance model, to establish stronger anti-fraud capabilities, lower costs for agency partners and a new design collaboration to improve user experience.

“By pairing strong technical protections with thoughtful design, Login.gov will ensure the wide range of online government services people rely on remains secure and effective,” GSA says.
