NEC launches new solutions for detecting signs of unusual activity, utilizes biometrics

NEC has just announced the launch of MAG1C, a new solution for analyzing information from sources that include social networks, video and voice, as well as data from environment and scent sensors.

According to the company, the MAG1C solutions include access control for user authentication, terminal verification to verify the digital signatures and reliability of video data; detection of altered videos, terminal verification software to check the reliability of surveillance camera devices; shared digital signage; large media analysis; as well as an integrated data analysis Graphical User Interface for displaying video, 3D data and operable map applications.

“NEC integrates advanced safety technologies such as the world’s top biometrics matching technology, highly functional, high performance sensor technology, technologies to predict and analyze unusual signs using big data, as well as next-generation network technology that includes SDN/OpenFlow,” Tan Boon Chin, Managing Director, Regional Competency Centre, Public Safety, NEC Corporation said. “In addition, we strive to develop common solution models while strengthening local system integration capabilities and customer bases in order to accelerate global business.”

NEC says the new MAG1C solutions have been designed to strengthen the sharing of information between local government ministries, offices and related organizations. This is a part of NEC’s Safer Cities strategy for its public safety business.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, NEC has launched a biometric facial recognition system for PC unlocking apps. This particular system utilizes NEC’s NeoFace software, and the company plans to sell it to companies and government agencies.
