Purdue Pharma Adopts Realtime BioLock System

Realtime North America’s bioLock system has been incorporated into Purdue Pharma’s SAP enterprise system.

The resulting system allows verification of selected user identities each time sensitive tasks or mission critical functions are being performed. The bioLock system has been configured to work in tandem with Zvetco Verifi P5000 fingerprint scanners, which in turn provide tighter security measures for the pharmaceutical company.

Purdue Pharma has also enabled a tailor-made, online-based e-mail program, which can be easily accessed by users to verify and interact with bioLock from remote work areas. Along with that, the customized security measure allows for easy tracking or auditing in terms of finding out who executed a certain financial function.

Chief operating officer for Realtime North America Thomas Neudenberger says that with bioLock in place, Purdue Pharma can adjust the access granted to each user from the top level down to the field position if highly necessary.

He further stated that the bioLock software system is the only Sarbanese-Oxley and HIPAA certified access control measure that is available for SAP. It is also the only biometric solution that can be used for identity management and fraud risk mitigation compliant with their standards.
