Fingerprint Cards appoints Magnus Hansson as Senior Sourcing Director
Fingerprint Cards has announced its newest appointment: Magnus Hansson as Senior Sourcing Director.
FPC says through the company’s recent successes and expansion, there has arisen a need to strengthen purchasing function and production handling, and that’s why Hansson has been appointed. Hansson will focus primarily on FPC’s purchasing and production control methods, as well as further developing processes to ensure cost efficiency and secure supply of the company’s components and products.
“Magnus will be a fantastic addition to the team in our current expansion phase. I am convinced that his extensive experience, knowledge and network make him the right person to drive forward the development of Supply Chain Management and our purchasing function,” Johan Carlström, CEO of FPC said. “I believe Magnus will also contribute strongly in other areas of FPC’s operations with his broad background in technology development, particularly in the telecom industry.”
Hansson comes to FPC with many years of executive experience, with position at Ericsson and ST-Ericsson in Lund, where he was VP, Sourcing & Supply, Head of Purchasing and Technology Licensing and most recently SVP 3G and LTE Modem Solutions.
In 2012, FPC appointed Jörgen Lantto as EVP & CTO. Lantto also came to FPC from positions at ST-Ericsson and Ericsson.
As reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, FPC has seen significant growth lately and has been announcing many large orders, design wins and expansions. Most recently, the company received its first design win for tablets with its FPC 1080A swipe sensor from an unnamed Chinese design house.
