Synaptics receives FIDO certification for four Natural ID fingerprint solutions

Synaptics’ biometric solutions address market requirements across various devices, including entry- to mid-level mobile phones, flagship smartphones, laptops, tablets, and peripheral device segments including mouse and keyboard.
The company’s products are developed to meet the form factor requirements of a wide range of physical implementations including button mounting, rear and side mounting, and other emerging placements that help Synaptics customers differentiate their products.

“Synaptics, a founding member of FIDO Alliance, has provided consistent leadership, participation and commitment to the development of the FIDO standards and market adoption programs,” said Brett McDowell, executive director, FIDO Alliance. “Providing FIDO Certified solutions strengthens the ecosystem of FIDO solutions being brought to the marketplace and accelerates broad adoption worldwide.”

Synaptics will continue to participate and contribute to the FIDO Alliance initiatives, as well as plans to certify new biometric sensor products to assure interoperability with the numerous FIDO deployments available.
