Two new Xiaomi smartphones feature Precise Biometrics and Fingerprint Cards technology

Xiaomi announced today that its Mi 4S and Mi5 smartphones feature Precise Biometrics and Fingerprint Cards (FPC) fingerprint technology.

Both smartphone models use Precise Biometrics’ product for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile. The Mi 4S features FPC’s touch fingerprint sensor FPC1035 and model Mi5 features the FPC1245 touch fingerprint sensor.

Jörgen Lantto, CEO of FPC, commented, “Xiaomi is a leading global smartphone manufacturer and we are proud that Xiaomi selected FPC1245 for Mi5, following the successful launch of Redmi Note 3 in 2015, using FPC1035. FPC1245 supports ceramic coating as well as 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”

Earlier this week it was announced that Precise Biometrics and Fingerprint Cards (FPC) fingerprint technology has been integrated into LG’s flagship smartphone model G5 and Huawei’s new 2-in-1 device MateBook.
