A number of biometrics firms are participating in the second edition of the ID4Africa forum which takes place in Kigali, Rwanda from May 24th to May 26th.

ID4Africa is a multi-stakeholder movement that promotes the transparent and responsible adoption of digital identity in the service of development in Africa. Its aim is to share experience and establish real world best practices that set the correct expectations for what is involved in launching and sustaining successful identity programs.

WCC will be exhibiting its Smart Identity Platform and VP Tarvider Sembhi will be presenting. The WCC Smart Identity Platform uniquely combines biographic and biometric data to make any identity solution more reliable and fraud resistant.

Zetes is a Premier Plus Sponsor of the ID4Africa event and will be participating in the presentations and workshops, focusing on the need for a unique civil register to sustain efficient identifications schemes. It will also showcase its solutions and be available for demo’s and discussions.

Ronny Depoortere, Senior VP of Zetes PASS explains: “Zetes has been involved in many digital identity projects in Africa over the two past decades. The market is changing fast and requires constant adaptation from both the industry and the states themselves. It is therefore crucial to establish an efficient dialogue between all the stakeholders so that we can all learn from each other. ID4Africa is the ideal platform for this and we are very happy to be actively involved.”

Credence ID is announcing its partnership with Invixium to dramatically improve access control and time & attendance solutions this week at the ID4Africa conference. The partnership provides partners with the benefit of expanding their solution offerings. This will enhance any access control or time & attendance deployments as fixed and handheld devices from two different manufacturers can now be installed on the same network, using a single software application, IXM WEB.

Integrated Biometrics has launched an online resource geared toward the African marketplace. The resource offers news items, Q&A interviews with industry leaders, and case studies on the uses of biometrics technology to advance social and economic growth. The launch coincides with the company’s announcement earlier this month that it is sending a team of biometrics industry professionals to Kigali to participate in the ID4Africa international conference.
