FPC and Precise Biometrics fingerprint technology featured in two new Coolpad smartphones

Fingerprint Cards (FPC) and Precise Biometrics are providing the fingerprint technology for the new Coolpad Max and Max Lite smartphones.

Both devices use Precise Biometrics’ algorithm solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile. The fingerprint algorithm is based on Precise Biometrics’ standardized extractor and matcher technology, which is ISO 19794-2 compliant.

The Coolpad Max device features Fingerprint Cards’ touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025. The Coolpad Max Lite device features the FPC1035 sensor.

Earlier this year, research firm Acuity Market Intelligence said that more than 200 smartphones incorporating fingerprint, iris, and eye-vein biometrics been introduced since Q1 2013 under 70 brand names including Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, TCL, Oppo, Vivo, and ZTE. Acuity projects that 600 million biometric smartphones are currently in use representing 28% of the global installed base.
