Precise Biometrics, FPC fingerprint tech integrated in BQ Aquaris X5 Plus

BQ has launched its Aquaris X5 Plus mobile device featuring Fingerprint Cards (FPC) FPC1035 sensor and Precise Biometrics‘ Precise BioMatch Mobile.

The FPC1035 sensor supports FPC OneTouch, letting you unlock the device with a simple touch. Precise BioMatch Mobile is an algorithm solution for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices. The patented hybrid algorithm solution is optimized for small fingerprint sensors and platforms with limited processing power and memory space.

In its year-end report for 2016, Precise Biometrics CEO Håkan Persson said that the company expects a weaker revenue development during the first half of 2017 due to reduced revenues from FPC and that sales to FPC will completely stop during the latter part of the year.
