Goodix fingerprint sensor integrated in Huawei MateBook X computer

Huawei has integrated Goodix‘s fingerprint sensor solution in its latest computer, the MateBook X.

Launched in Berlin, Germany, the MateBook X with Goodix’s fingerprint authentication solution is the first Windows notebook equipped with the “One Step Power-On and Login” function.

Goodix’s independent fingerprint sensor is integrated into a power button embedded with One Step Power-On and Login features, which allows users to activate and unlock devices simultaneously with just one touch.

The fingerprint sensor features a Transport Layer Security (TLS) embedded in the chip, facilitating secure communications between the chip and the system for secured fingerprint authentication.

In addition, Goodix’s fingerprint authentication algorithm enables highly accurate fingerprint identification and rapid unlocking speed.

The solution supports a range of covered, coatings and invisible fingerprint sensor (IFS) solutions, allowing for greater design flexibility to manufacturers.

The company has previously integrated its fingerprint authentication solutions in personal computers (PC), tablets and smartphones, including Huawei’s flagship P10 and P10 Plus smartphones.

Goodix will exhibit its latest biometric and human interface solutions for mobile phones, tablets and wearables at Computex Taipei 2017, held May 30 to June 3 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei, Taiwan.

Earlier this year Xiaomi launched its Mi 6 smartphone featuring Goodix’s Invisible Fingerprint Sensor (IFS) technology.
