Balabit launches new privileged access management solution

Balabit has announced the launch of its new Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution, which integrates its Privileged Session Management (PSM) technology and its Privileged Account Analytics (PAA) behavior analytics software.

The new software is offered as a turnkey solution for large enterprises. It records privileged sessions in granular detail, according to the announcement, and monitors and authenticates users in real-time with sophisticated analytics to reinforce traditional security measures like password management.

“Up until now, password management has been the first step most organizations have taken in Privileged Access Management, and what we’re seeing now is a realization that even with this technology in place, businesses are vulnerable to attack,” said Zoltán Györkő, co-founder and CEO of Balabit. “With the increased threat from privileged insiders, or hacked privileged credentials, we believe that CISOs implementing PAM should focus much more on monitoring activity in real-time on the assumption that attackers are already inside the network. Password Management is still an important first line of defense, but as a means of preventing sophisticated cyber-attacks, it’s simply not enough.”

Balabit PAM now provides an integrated user interface to give security professionals a single real-time view of audit trails, session risk scores, and alerts, to make investigations faster and more proactive.

The company also introduced an Integration Plugin Marketplace to provide customers with password vaults, multi-factor authentication tools, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
