IDEMIA claims top spot in two categories at NIST Face Recognition Vendor Test

IDEMIA has announced that its technology has won the top ranking as the most accurate 1:1 algorithm out of 33 competitors in the SELFIE and WEBCAM categories of NIST’s Face Recognition Vendor Test (FTRVT).

The FRVT evaluations are meant to provide independent information to help U.S. Government and law enforcement agencies determine where and how to best deploy facial recognition technology. The benchmark measures the performance of technologies against a wide range of datasets, according to the announcement.

“These results further confirm IDEMIA’s technology leadership in the highly competitive facial recognition marketplace,” said Ed Casey, Chief Executive Officer of IDEMIA’s Identity and Security Business. “It is crucial to demonstrate accuracy and continued advances in our offerings to trusted third parties such as NIST. We are proud to see IDEMIA algorithms are continually ranked among best-in-class solutions world-wide.”

The core IDEMIA technology evaluated in the test is used in the company’s latest products for the facial recognition market, including MorphoFACE and ONELook gates.

IDEMIA is showcasing its airport passenger solutions, including its facial recognition technology, at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Stockholm this week.
