Vision-Box unveils new IoT facial recognition devices to facilitate seamless airport experience

Vision-Box is presenting a new portfolio of IoT biometric interaction points with integrated AI and virtual assistants at the Stockholm Passenger Terminal Expo 2018. Displayed as part of a campaign with the motto “Transforming the Passenger Lifestyle,” the devices are designed to allow passengers to use facial recognition to for every transaction in an airport, having shown a passport, ID card or boarding pass only once, according to the announcement.

The new product line is driven by modularity, small size, and connectivity, and enables easy-to-navigate, self-service, on-the-go transactions for crossing a border, passing through security, accessing a lounge, or making a purchase, the company says.

The passenger experience is managed by airports, airlines, and authorities through the Orchestra shared services platform.

“In addition to the obvious gains in security and efficiency, resulting from a multi-stakeholder platform, Orchestra will grab the intelligence that airports and airlines need to unlock unprecedented traveler experiences and accelerate growth and non-aviation revenue. Airports will be places to experience rather than just a place to hop on a plane to somewhere else”. Miguel Leitmann, Vision-Box CEO.

The new devices include a small camera cube which provides short range and long range facial recognition, designed to fit on a desk or totem, or hang from a ceiling.

The new devices work with Vision-Box’s Seamless Airport 4.0 ecosystem, which is also being presented at Passenger Terminal Expo 2018 this week.
