Crossmatch has reached an agreement with Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America to offer its DigitalPersona authentication software in the Toughbook line of 2-in-1 laptops, handheld, and tablet devices.

The partnership provides Toughbook users with a flexible range of authentication factors, including traditional one-time password (OTP) hardware and software tokens, smartcards, behavioral and biometrics methods, mobile-based OTP, Bluetooth, and proximity cards, enabling access to laptops, applications and workflows running locally or in the cloud. It allows law enforcement to implement multi-factor and risk-based authentication for enhanced CJIS compliance, and Crossmatch also points out DigitalPersona’s benefits to fleet operators, utility organizations and others with large mobile workforces.

“DigitalPersona offers Toughbook customers the option of an integrated approach to strengthening their overall security posture without burdening the user or the IT department,” said Lance Roncalli, SVP for Crossmatch. “Administrators can establish the optimal authentication approach for a given use case and user.”

Crossmatch also recently announced the integration of DigitalPersona with IBM Security Access Manager to secure and simplify web, mobile, and cloud access for businesses.
