Yoti partners with FaceTec for biometric authentication with liveness detection
Yoti is integrating FaceTec’s ZoOm 3D Authentication with TrueLiveness to boost the biometric security of its digital identity offerings and give Yoti a significant competitive edge with anti-spoofing capabilities, the companies announced.
The first Yoti product to feature the integration is the online browser version of its Yoti Age Scan age estimation technology.
The Yoti digital identity app has been downloaded by roughly 3.7 million people in the UK, U.S., and India, according to the announcement.
“We’re on a mission to be the world’s trusted identity platform. This means our products must be built with the highest levels of security,” explains Yoti Co-founder and CEO Robin Tombs. “We’re therefore delighted to partner with FaceTec, and use their leading ZoOm 3D Authentication to enhance our security and anti-spoofing capabilities. Individuals will have a smoother and faster experience when using our products, and businesses can benefit from accurate and friction-free authentication. We’re proud to be working with FaceTec, a company that aligns with our principles and takes security as seriously as we do.”
Yoti says it evaluated several potential partners, and chose FaceTec’s technology due to the technical superiority and standards compliance of ZoOm.
“We reviewed a number of providers and found ZoOm to be superior to the other solutions we tested,” adds Yoti Chief Product Officer Madhu Nori. “We found the anti-spoofing and liveness detection approach very strong and innovative, with a simple and intuitive UX for individuals. It’s also a scalable solution; an important consideration for us as we expand globally.”
FaceTec proved compliance with the ISO 30107-3 standards for Presentation Attack Detection in achieving Level 1 and Level 2 NIST/NVLAP-certified testing by iBeta, with the latter test result announced in February. ZoOm is supported on Android and iOS native apps, web and mobile browsers.
“We are very excited to be working alongside Yoti’s groundbreaking global identity platform. Yoti is secure, fast and simple to use, and with over 3 million downloads of the free app, has established a leadership position in what is expected to be a very big market,” says Kevin A. Tussy, FaceTec CEO. “We are confident ZoOm 3D Face Authentication will help deliver the highest levels of login security, aiding Yoti with its global expansion plans.”
FaceTec’s also recently won a major integration partnership for its biometric technology with Jumio.
