UnionCommunity announces new fingerprint scanner with advanced security features

 

UnionCommunity has released its new NScan-FMSE biometric fingerprint scanner with a built-in secure chip and a dual encryption system for enhanced physical security and encrypted stored templates, according to a company announcement.

Various international standards bodies, including NIST, advise that fingerprint data be encrypted.

The new scanner is certified for FAP20 Mobile ID specifications, and also features UnionCommunity’s Live Fingerprint Detection (LFD) technology, which can identify spoofs with clay, rubber, film, and other materials. The USB scanner can be used with PCs, tablets, and various mobile devices.

“The new product is equipped with a secure chip in the hardware and has advanced fingerprint data with encryption technology,” comments UnionCommunity CEO Yoshik Sin. “It is very expected various demands from the financial and insurance, E-Contract for the property, medical sectors and more.”

The NScan-FMSE is designed for use with the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute’s ‘Bio Information Distributed Management System’ to support various financial transactions. UnionCommunity was certified by the Institute for its compatibility, segmentation suitability, and transaction suitability in early 2017, the company says.

The company, which offers Virdi and Nitgen among its brands, introduced its new UBio Series devices at its recent global partner conference.
