Idex Biometrics has entered into partnership with Silone Cardtech to deliver mass volume, dual-interface biometric payment cards in China. The Norwegian biometrics company has a growing commercial presence in Asia where it is notes increasing demand for biometric payment solutions.

Silone CardTech is a VISA, Mastercard, China UnionPay and JCB certified card manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China and specializes in the development, design, manufacturing and sale of high quality contactless, contact and dual-interface smart cards, as well as manufacturing and design of production and testing equipment for the smart card industry. Its customer base includes some of the largest banks and loyalty programs in China.

“Our customers are some of the largest card vendors in the world and we are excited by the prospect of being able to offer them the next level of security and convenience in their smart cards,” says William Ju, Silone CEO. “High volume manufacturing of biometric smart cards requires considerable expertise and this partnership with Idex, the leader in off-chip sensing technology, will help us to meet our customers’ needs.”

“This partnership with Silone further strengthens Idex’s commitment to satisfy the increasing demands for biometric smart cards,” adds Stan Swearingen, CEO of Idex Biometrics. “Silone are proven specialists in manufacturing high quality smart card products and together we offer a compelling value proposition for customers.”
