ForgeRock extends support for AWS to ease identity federation across different environments

ForgeRock is now offering expanded support for Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance businesses’ control over AWS resource access, the company has announced. By adding support for AWS Session Tags, ForgeRock enables organizations to securely pass identity attributes from ForgeRock Directory or other directory services into AWS environments to extend existing identity management processes through federation.

AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) is now supported by ForgeRock, allowing customers to create AWS users and groups and manage their access with permissions. The expanded relationship between ForgeRock and AWS allows organizations to use identity federation technology such as SAML and Open ID Connect to authenticate and sign on to services deployed to cloud, hybrid, or on-premise environments.

“We’re pleased to advance our relationship with AWS, leveraging the power of SAML and OpenID Connect, to deliver a secure end-to-end experience for administrators and developers,” said Ben Goodman, senior vice president of corporate development, ForgeRock. “With AWS Session Tags, AWS continues to deliver innovation to help organizations maximize investments in AWS IAM.”

The ForgeRock Identity Platform provides robust identity capabilities for workforces, consumers, and things, and supports Google Cloud, OpenShift, and Microsoft Azure, in addition to AWS. ForgeRock also launched a new IAM product for hybrid cloud deployments earlier this month.
