Mantra Softech develops fingerprint scanner with optical sensor, targets government projects

Fingerprint-Identification

Biometric PoS developer Mantra Softech has manufactured a high-quality fingerprint scanner enhanced with a scratch-free optical sensor for more accurate fingerprint recognition.

Dubbed MFS500, the scanner is used for user identification and authentication. Certified by FBI PIV Certification for FAP10, Mantra Softech claims its solution has the lowest FRR (False Recognition Rate) in the market, with a glass platen prism instead of plastic which does not turn yellow with time. The scanner is compatible with Android, Windows, and Linux systems. It can be used in different applications including Citizen Identification and eKYC. The company has made available a dedicated support center for real-time online and onsite support.

Other solutions developed by Mantra Softech include MFS100 APIs and SDKs built to help SIs and developers to develop solutions in any environment.

Future growth plans include getting involved in government projects related to driving licenses, social security and national population registry. Mantra Softech is already working on solutions for airports and subway lines, reports Economic Times.

So far, the Indian company boasts to have sold over 2.3 million biometrics-based devices in India, with major growth plans for Africa and UAE. Client portfolio includes JSW, Tata Group, SAIL, Airtel Dena Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Vodafone.

“Mantra Softech is designing state-of-the-art end-to-end security solutions for identification like Airport and Metro solution,” said Hiren Bhandari, Director -Technical and co-founder.

In August, Mantra’s Aadhaar-enabled biometric devices were deployed for food distribution to reduce fraud.
