Fingerprint Cards payment platform, biometric sensor module pass China’s Bank Card Test Center evaluation

Fingerprint-Identification

Fingerprint Cards software platform for payments, FPC-BEP, and the FPC T-Shape sensor module have successfully completed the precision and security assessment conducted by Bank Card Test Center (BCTC) in China, the company announced.

BCTC is a third-party that conducts independent tests and is recognized by global standardization organizations and payment schemes.

Fingerprint Cards’ test rested on China UnionPay’s Fingerprint Identification Card Technical Guide, and passing it confirms the solution is in line with consumer, bank and card manufacturer standards of accuracy and security.

“This is a significant step for us on the road to enable secure and convenient payments for consumers around the world and to make it easier for card manufacturers in China to integrate our superior biometric solution,” says Thomas Rex, SVP Business Line Smartcards at Fingerprint Cards. “We are pleased that we have passed this important performance test as we approach the next step for wider commercial roll-out of biometric payment cards.”

Fingerprint Cards has recently announced two new capacitive touch sensors to its fingerprint authentication touch sensor portfolio, for physical and logical access to devices and applications.

At the end of 2019, Fingerprint Cards reported staggering progress in the mass commercialization of biometric payment cards.
