FIDO Alliance releases Authenticate 2020 agenda with identity industry heavyweight speakers

The FIDO Alliance has announced the full agenda for Authenticate 2020, the first FIDO conference, in Seattle in June which focuses on modern passwordless authentication methods.

“Authenticate provides the industry with an opportunity for education and discussion on implementing modern authentication,” said Andrew Shikiar, executive director and CMO of FIDO Alliance in a prepared statement. “FIDO encourages organizations of all sizes to prioritize stronger security, and we are eager to share the tools and resources to help them get there. The conference agenda features practical presentations and case studies that will give attendees a deep understanding of the best practices they need to integrate FIDO’s approach to simpler, stronger authentication into their own services.”

The agenda includes case studies presented by a number of service and technology providers including Facebook, Google, IBM, Microsoft, MITRE Corporation and Target, discussions around authentication and how FIDO aligns with W3C Web Payments, and EMVCo 3DS and SRC, presentations on FIDO standards and technical implementation, policy discussions around PSD2, GDPR and eIDAS, privacy and regulators’ perspective.

Apple also joined the passwordless on-device authentication alliance earlier in February, the final major browser-maker to adopt FIDO protocols.

The keynote speaker list includes industry experts such as Dr. Whitfield Diffie, the co-inventor of public key cryptography, Joy Chik, corporate vice president of identity at Microsoft, Mark Risher, senior director of product management at Google and Stina Ehrensvard, CEO and founder of Yubico.

An expo hall with products and services will also be available.

Early bird tickets are available until March 8. Authenticate takes place at the same time as the FIDO Alliance member meeting.
