Nok Nok releases updated passwordless authenticator to streamline third-party integration
Nok Nok has released an updated version of its Nok Nok S3 Authentication Suite (Nok Nok S3 Suite) with Adaptive Policy features to streamline integration with third-party risk systems and meet PSD2 SCA compliance requirements, the company announced.
S3 Suite updates include an Adaptive Policy for easy authentication policy configuration, risk assessment performed without requiring a custom code, transparent migration from native TouchID/FaceID biometrics to two-factor FIDO Authenticator, Nok Nok Quick Authentication for improved user experience on high latency networks and support for WearOs.
Nok Nok smart watch support is now compatible with Apple Watch and WearOS. After analyzing feedback from banking, telco and eCommerce clients regarding time saving efforts and cost, the company ensures frictionless passwordless authentication for any device.
“The introduction of new technology to address the authentication needs of companies wrestling with regulatory and integration complexity while still meeting the needs of consumers is not new to Nok Nok,” said in the announcement Naga Nagarajan, Vice President of Engineering of Nok Nok Labs. “We are pleased to roll out today more capabilities that continue to meet the authentication requirements of our most security conscious customers. The Nok Nok S3 Suite continues to ease and speed the path to passwordless with the right policy options and integrations regardless of the device.”
As user online behavior is rapidly changing due to COVID-19, companies expect easy authentication tools that don’t overlook international security policies and regulations. Nok Nok S3 Suite helps businesses understand what causes cart abandonment, as well as prevent phishing attacks and friction.
“The new Quick Authentication capability gives organizations the ability to significantly reduce network traffic. Quick Authentication provides both security and speed for end-users,” said in a prepared statement Ron van Wezel, Senior Analyst at Aite Group. “Additionally, this new Nok Nok release allows merchants to use 3DS delegated authentication, avoiding the need for step-up, even for high-risk transactions — a feature all merchants will benefit from, especially during the current remote environment.”
The updated release of Nok Nok S3 Suite will be available in July 2020.
