Vingroup receives second FIDO2 certification for authentication server

Vingroup member VinCSS Cyber Security Services says it is the first in Vietnam to receive FIDO2 certification, enabling passwordless authentication with biometrics and other factors, for its authentication server VinCSS FIDO2 Server.
Earlier this year, the company’s VinCSS FIDO2 Authenticator also became FIDO2-certified by the FIDO Alliance, joining the ranks of top 13 global businesses that provide a full-service strong authentication ecosystem, according to the announcement.
The server is a great option for organizations in finance, banking, fintech, e-wallets and super applications and provides FIDO2-certified full-service strong authentication and transformation, the company says. It can be easily tailored to users’ needs and has high applicability for companies that want to deploy internal strong authentication systems to prevent data stealing attacks.
VinCSS will further invest in SDK research and development to help the tech community build strong authentication and provide platform service suppliers in the country with fast access to strong authentication. The company aims to keep releasing FIDO2-certified authentication apps for Android and iOS with biometric features for enhanced security and user experience.
Recently, Vingroup-funded research lab VinAI Research has come up with a method of facial recognition technology that can accurately identify individuals who wear surgical face masks.
