October was a prolific month for biometrics, with plenty of organizations featuring online seminars and exhibitions.

November is now following suit, with events organized by IDEMIA, ID4Africa, FIDO Alliance and GoodID.

Below is a breakdown of all of them.

The Biometric Access Summit 2020

Organized by digital identity leader IDEMIA and its partners, The Biometric Access Summit 2020 is an event focusing on the use of biometric solutions for access control and time attendance.

The event runs today and tomorrow and will present 18 sessions in three tracks with 27 speakers across.

The first track, the Tech one, will highlight the main tech topics in the biometrics industry, while the Verticals track will discuss the benefits of biometrics for access control from companies that have already adopted them.

Finally, the Regional track will analyze data in regional tech preferences, trends, and regulations shaping the biometrics’ market.

ID4Africa Livecast

Taking place on November 12, this webinar is part of ID4Africa’s Country Progress Reports (CPR) LiveCast series and will focus on identity solutions in Tanzania, where the movement was found.

The event will be moderated by Dr. Joseph Atick, Executive Chairman of ID4Africa, and will welcome nine key decision-makers and technical experts from Tanzania.

The Livecast discussion will highlight models of interactions among the country’s supply and demand sides of the biometric identity ecosystem.

It will also try to pinpoint lessons for cooperation among the stakeholders that could be useful to other African countries.

Finally, the speakers will take a look at what has been achieved in the development of a modern, inclusive identity ecosystem in Tanzania, and what can be done to improve it further.

Authenticate 2020

Organized by the FIDO Alliance, the Authenticate 2020 virtual event starts today and will run until November 20.

Sponsored by Google, Microsoft, and Yubico, among others, the online exhibition will focus on the who, what, why, and how of user authentication.

Keynote speakers will include Dr. Whitfield Diffie, co-inventor of Public Key Cryptography, Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Identity Joy Chik, and Google Senior Director of Product Management, Security, and Privacy Mark Risher.

Also speaking are Yubico CEO and Founder Stina Ehrensvärd and Andrew Shikiar, Executive Director and Chief Marketing Officer at FIDO Alliance.
