Zero Trust Government Symposium

Zero Trust Government Symposium

Zero Trust Government Symposium
National Harbor, MD
July 19 – 20, 2023

Defense Strategies Institute’s Inaugural Zero Trust Government Symposium aims to highlight the current status of Zero Trust across the Federal Government and the DoD in an effort to bring into focus widespread implementation efforts. CISOs, CIOs, Network Architects and other Senior Leaders will come together to provide their perspectives on current initiatives and updates on the adoption of a Zero Trust mindset, when trying to verify credentials and provide trusted, secure network access. The Zero Trust mindset of “never trust, always verify,” enables the right user, under the right conditions, to gain the right access, to the right data.

The 2023 Symposium will bring together leaders across the government and DoD to discuss how Zero Trust is not a product or a service, but a strategy. Instead of relying on a perimeter-based approach, every user, device, and app must be verified for every point of access. The May 2021 Cybersecurity Executive Order ignited the transition to Zero Trust architectures, which led to the expansion of tools such as identity, credential and access management (ICAM) solutions, data governance and automation. Following the Zero Trust executive order, federal agencies began developing and implementing Zero Trust strategies, including the Defense Department’s Five-Year Zero Trust Strategy and CISA’s Zero Trust Maturity Model, to provide guidance and measures to effectively secure agency assets.
