BIO-key & Indigo team to provide biometric healthcare security solution

 

BIO-key International Inc. is partnering with Indigo Identityware Inc. to provide a password-free biometric authentication solution for the healthcare industry.

BIO-key is a global leader in fingerprint biometric identification solutions and advanced mobile identification technology and Indigo has distinguished itself by providing password-free mobile and virtual strong authentication.

BIO-key will be adding Indigo’s password-free strong authentication and single sign-on solution to its fingerprint biometric software for electronic medical records access. The system will be especially designed for a variety of healthcare providers.

BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale said: “BIO-key relies upon partnerships to expand our business and the partnership with Indigo shows tremendous promise. Indigo offers comprehensive authentication and single sign-on solutions and our finger biometric technology is the perfect complement. Healthcare providers use Indigo’s healthcare software for fast access to medical records with BIO-key’s integrated biometrics for security and convenience.”

BIO-key already has established itself in hospitals; blood centers and eye care centers. With Indigo, the firm will be able to provide secure and compliant biometric technology to electronic medical records systems at a number of facilities including: Lifelong Medical, Summit Orthopedics, Midwest Eye Care, Mille Lacs Health Systems.

Two additional healthcare specialty facilities will also be using the technology: Central Minnesota NeuroSciences and Twin Cities Orthopedics.

Terry Banbury, Indigo’s Vice President of Sales and Client Services stated: “BIO-key’s biometric algorithm is fast, accurate, and seamlessly integrates into Indigo’s Strong Authentication and SSO solutions. We have enjoyed years of consistent success together and the healthcare opportunities for biometric authentication are increasing.
