3M releases screen protectors to fade fingerprints

3M has released a screen protector that makes fingerprints on tablets fade away over time.

Fingerprints and other biometric information are being targeted by criminals for many reasons including identify theft, password and security cracking. With the latest technological trend of touch screens in most machines and gadgets, a person’s fingerprint has become much more vulnerable to acquisition by unauthorized people.

This new, patent-pending 3M Fingerprint Fading technology allows fingerprints to fade over time, which helps the display surface stay clean noticeably longer, while maintaining superior image clarity.
It also comes in a variety of customized sizes for popular tablets, including the new Apple iPad, and also protects front-facing cameras without degrading picture quality.

Do you think that 3M’s Natural View Fingerprint Fading Screen Protector is efficient for security purposes?
