AOptix Technologies demonstrates InSight Duo

AOptix Technologies demonstrated its InSight Duo product offering for BiometricUpdate.com at the 2012 Biometric Consortium Conference & Biometric Technology Expo held in Tampa this week.

InSight Duo delivers the combined power of iris and face biometrics in a single, slim device. And with a capture time of 6 seconds for standards compliant face and dual iris images, at a distance of 2 meters, InSight Duo delivers outstanding performance without compromising the high throughput of the original InSight system. Additionally, InSight Duo continues to provide an ADA compliant capture volume, allowing for the effortless iris and face imaging of any subject, whether they are in a wheelchair or above 7 feet (2.15 meters) tall.

InSight Duo includes an on-board image quality assessment toolkit to ensure that it captures high quality iris and face images that exceed the criteria set forth by ISO 19794-6 and 19794-5, respectively. When image quality is not sufficient, InSight Duo provides subjects with actionable feedback to facilitate successful image capture and the reduction of FTA and FTE rates.

With a design centered on open standards and interoperability, InSight Duo is easy to implement into a wide range of applications. Encrypted communication based on SOAP over HTTPS provides an open architecture for seamless integration with existing backend systems. The ease of integration with back-end systems provides flexibility and potential for tailored applications such as fusion of face and iris biometrics. For further simplicity, the iris imaging functionality and the communications protocol for InSight Duo are the same as for the rest of the InSight product family.

Merging the accuracy of iris, the ubiquity of face, and outstanding ease-of-use, InSight Duo is poised to deliver unparalleled biometric performance to applications ranging from registered and trusted traveler programs to expedited immigration and border crossing.
