CARTES America has announced its second industry conference, which is set to take place April 23-25, 2013 in Las Vegas.

This year’s conference will feature leading security experts and promises to tackle the security challenges of mobile payment, identification, EMV, embedded and cloud applications.

Five day-long tracks will be devoted to information security covering nearly 40 sessions over the three-day conference. On April 23, CARTES America will host a track on Securing Mobile Payments and Services featuring speakers from the United States and Europe addressing topics ranging from delivering a secure contactless mobile ecosystem and the changing face of mobile payments security to two case studies on real-world implementations.

Two tracks will take place on April 24: EMV and Security and Electronic ID for a Secure Identity , and on April 25, speakers will cover a range of security topics in the tracks on Smart Card Security & Embedded Applications and Cloud & Cyber Security Challenges .

“The increased risk of data breaches, identity theft and malware have made consumers more aware about the importance of protecting themselves and their organizations online, which is why we are devoting much of CARTES America to helping smart card, payments and mobile service providers learn the techniques and technologies to secure their operations,” Isabelle Alfano, event director of CARTES America said.

The event will focus on the topics, trends and technologies to facilitate new business in the large and dynamic American market for innovative smart technologies. The CARTES America conference program includes a number of sessions addressing three broad themes: EMV and NFC deployments, mobile & advanced payments and security. The event will feature technology and application demonstrations by a sold-out roster of 130 exhibitors.
