Atos Worldline to provide biometric payment system for Telekom Deutschland

 

Atos Worldline has put into motion a framework agreement with Telekom Deutschland for the development, setup and operation of the new “Pay-At-Match” biometric payment system.

Atos Worldline’s Pay-At-Match systems allows previously registered customers to use a combination of a fingerprint scanner and a PIN number to verify identity and complete a payment. The value of this deal has not been disclosed.

Atos Worldline continuously invests in launching new payment methods in order to offer our customers easy to use and highly secure payment methods that can be easily implemented across Europe,” Wolf Kunisch, CEO of Atos Worldline in Germany said. “We are proud that Telekom Deutschland has chosen us as their long-term partner to supple them with our expertise for the new Pay-At-Match system.”

Earlier this month, Atos announced that its “Cloud Orchestration Platform” won the 2013 NASSCOM http://www.nasscom.org/ Process Innovation Award.

In September of last year, Atos, in collaboration with Gunnebo, worked on a project which saw automated border control gates deployed at Bulgaria’s Sofia Airport.

Systems such as the Atos Pay-At-Match, are becoming increasingly attractive for certain applications, including in school cafeterias to ensure kids get the lunch they need and the problems associated with carrying cash in schools are eliminated.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, the Treviglas Community College in England has opted to use a cashless biometric payment system from Uniware in the school’s cafeteria.

Likewise, In New Jersey, the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District is set to install the Meal Pay Plus system from Horizon.
