Vision-Box takes home Asian SESAMES Award at Cartes 2013

Vision-Box has taken home the Asian SESAME Award during CARTES Asia conference for its new vb e-pass dispenser.

Vision-Box’s vb e-pass dispenser is intended for the self-service delivery and renewal process for ID cards, and has so far been deployed in the Middle East.

In its essence, the vb e-pass dispenser, which stores up to 5,000 ID cards, automatically identifies the citizen by using face, finger and iris or combined biometrics, opening an online session with the life-cycle system, and allowing the user to initiate requests for or provide updates to an ID card issuance or renewal process.

“The game-change nature of the vb e-pass dispenser and how it is redesigning the interaction possibilities between authorities and citizens or customers has gained the attention of governments, banks and large corporations which have already expressed their interest into the innovative identity and card management solution, looking to benefit from the financial savings intrinsic to this solution, combined with the biometric self-service functionality, ensuring total security and accountability”. Miguel Leitmann, Senior Vice President of Vision-Box S.A. said. “We are delighted to receive this award, which gives us the clear indication that our technology is answering the complex market needs”

Last month, Frost & Sullivan recognized Vision-Box for its work with the 2013 European Vertical Market Penetration Leadership Award.

Over the past year, the company has made strong gains, registering 28-30 percent year-on-year growth. Its strategic focus on facial recognition, backed by a unique end-to-end solution, has enabled Vision-Box to win five of eight deployments in the Schengen area.

Reported previously in BiometricUpdate.com, Vision-Box recently unveiled its new biometric “periscope” for the long distance simultaneous capture of face and iris data in self-service eGates. This new device, upon detecting a user, automatically adjusts height and illumination to capture ICAO compliant images.
